		<description>Materialism is the main issue here.  Consumption of resources and production of waste is continuing to accelerate.  This is a crime given that we have no need to live like this.  A refrigerator from the 1950s was built to last forever; now we are lucky to get 5 years out of a new fridge.  The same is true of cars and all appliances.

Packaging is also an area of extreme waste.  Why are these important issues being largely ignored?</description>
